Toronto police are investigating after a man was assaulted, forced into a car and robbed of an expensive winter jacket in Scarborough.

The robbery took place at around 6:45 p.m. in the city’s Woodbine Gardens neighbourhood, near Dawes Road and Park Vista.

According to police, the victim was walking in the area when a car carrying several males approached.

The victim told police he was forced into the car and punched. His Canada Goose jacket and several other items were also taken from him.

The suspects eventually drove the man to a wooded area where they let him go.

The victim told police that he heard a gunshot after he was released. However police said there is no evidence so far that a weapon was fired. The man sustained minor injuries in the robbery, police said.

Two suspects were seen fleeing the area in a black Acura. They are described as black males. No further suspect description was immediately available.

The popular Canada Goose jackets typically retail for upwards of $645, though it’s not clear which model was taken.

Anyone with information about the robbery is being asked to contact police.
