A construction worker is dead after falling 22 storeys from a condo tower near Bay and Bloor streets, Toronto EMS says.

Toronto police said the incident happened at an address on St. Mary Street, just two blocks south of Bloor Street. The building was under construction at the time of the incident.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, fell from the 26th storey onto a rooftop four floors from ground level, officials at the scene told CP24.

Paramedics were called to the building around 2:30 p.m. and the man was declared dead at the scene, an EMS spokesperson says.

Both the coroner and the Ministry of Labour have been called to the scene.
