Subway service was suspended on the Yonge-University-Spadina line after a man in a wheelchair fractured his leg after falling onto the tracks at a downtown station Monday afternoon.

It happened at College Station shortly before 3 p.m.

The middle-aged man was transported to hospital with serious injuries, Toronto Paramedic Services said.

Service was suspended between Union and Bloor stations for roughly 40 minutes.

It was restored shortly before 3:30 p.m.
