One person was arrested for suspected impaired driving after a two vehicle collision in Rosedale overnight Tuesday.

Toronto Police Const. Clint Stibbe told CP24 a taxicab was travelling northbound on Yonge Street, attempting to make a left hand turn onto Scollard Street, when it was struck by a southbound Mazda sedan.

Stibbe said both the driver and passenger in the taxicab, along with the driver of the Mazda were taken to hospital for treatment after the crash, which occurred sometime after midnight Tuesday. The driver of the Mazda, a 30-year-old man, is facing alcohol-related charges.

The passenger in the cab, a 44-year-old male, suffered life-threatening injuries in the collision.

Police closed Yonge Street between Davenport Road and Collier Street to investigate. Stibbe said the road should be closed until about 8 a.m.
