Driver dies in accident that causes major delays on Hwy 400, 89

An accident involving a tractor trailer on Highway 400 is causing delays.

The driver in an accident, involving a tractor trailer that caused major delays on Highway 400 at Highway 89, has been pronounced dead in hospital.

Police say a truck crossed through the centre median and ended up on the right shoulder of the highway on Tuesday afternoon.

The driver, a 63-year-old man from London, had been taken to hospital and has been pronounced dead.

Earlier, two northbound lanes and one southbound lane were closed. Police say a medical condition caused the crash.

Police say northbound lanes will be shut down before 6 p.m. to remove the truck, but the closure shouldn’t last more than one hour.
