Body of latest Canadian soldier to die in Afghanistan arrives at CFB Trenton

TRENTON, Ont. — A plane carrying the body of the latest Canadian soldier to die in Afghanistan arrived at CFB Trenton, in eastern Ontario, on Tuesday afternoon.

Sapper Steven Marshall, 24, died Friday when a roadside bomb exploded near Kandahar City.

The Calgary native, who was based in Edmonton, was the 133rd Canadian soldier to die during the Afghan mission.

Marshall's body was taken along the Highway of Heroes to Toronto to the coroner's office.

The street to the office was lined with people, including a group of reservists, who saluted as the hearse drove by.
