The Toronto bicycle store owner who was arrested in July in connection with the seizure of more than three thousand bicycles is in court today.

Igor Kenk is facing 58 counts of theft and drug possession.

The owner of the Bicycle Clinic on Queen Street West, is also facing charges in connection with the seizure of more than $70,000 worth of drugs, including marijuana and crack cocaine.

Police began its investigation on July 16 after a witness saw Kenk directing a person to steal bicycles near his store.

Toronto man Jean Laveau, 47, has also been charged with several counts of theft.

A public viewing of the stolen bicycles took place for several weeks so that people could attempt to recover their stolen bikes. Only 466 bicycles were returned to their owners.
