NEW YORK - Canadians Frank Dancevic, Vasek Pospisil and Aleksandra Wozniak qualified Friday for the main draw at the U.S. Open.

Dancevic, from Niagara Falls, Ont., defeated Bradley Klahn of the U.S. 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 to advance.

It's the first time the 26-year-old has made the men's draw at the tournament since 2008.

Dancevic will play fellow qualifier Marsel Ilhan of Turkey in the U.S. Open's first round.

Later, Pospisil defeated Slovenia's Grega Zemlja 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (5) to make the main draw. The Vernon, B.C., native disposed of France's Charles-Antoine Brezac 6-1, 7-5 earlier Friday to set up the definitive match.

Pospisil will face Lukas Rosol of the Czech Republic in the tournament's opening round.

On the women's side, Wozniak downed Israel's Julia Glushko in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4, to make the women's main draw.

Wozniak, from Blainville, Que., earned the right to play Glushko earlier Friday when she beat Switzerland's Stefanie Voegele 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 to move on to the final round of qualifying.

Wozniak drew American Christina McHale as her first-round opponent.

Canada's top-ranked men's player is missing out on the tournament. Milos Raonic of Thornhill, Ont., is still recovering from a hip injury suffered at Wimbledon.

Stephanie Dubois failed to make the women's draw after the Laval, Que., native fell 7-6 (1), 3-6, 6-1 to Germany's Tatjana Malek.
