Toronto City Council has passed the 2010 capital budget, which includes lots of cash for transportation and infrastructure.

The city’s budget for 2010 is $2.4 billion, with more than 50 per cent of that going towards the operation, maintenance and expansion of the TTC.

The city plans to put more than $8.7 billion toward the TTC over ten years, including the cost of a new streetcar fleet.

Over the 10-year period, the spending is expected to create or maintain approximately 300,000 jobs.
