An early morning motorcycle crash in Peterborough has killed Toronto firefighter Steve Van Hemme.
Van Hemme was riding his bike on Peterborough's Parkhill Road at about 6 a.m. Wednesday when he collided with another vehicle, police say.
Van Hemme had been based out of fire station 322, located in East York near O'Connor Drive and Cosburn Avenue.
His identity was later confirmed by a post on the Toronto Professional Fire Fighters' Association website.
No other details are currently available.
