City officials say they're willing to negotiate past Sunday night's midnight deadline in order to prevent a strike by  Toronto's outside and inside workers.

Thousands of city workers could walk off the job at 12:01 Monday morning, halting garbage collection, city-run daycares, summer camps and swimming pools among other services.

Neither side is commenting on what, if any, progress is being made.

The main issues are changes to job security, seniority and benefits such as sick pay.

The city will hold a news conference at 2 p.m. to provide updates on how the talks are going.

Stay with CP24 for updates as they come in.
