Candidate Profile: Teresa Pun (Green)

Teresa PunBorn in Hong Kong and raised in Toronto, Pun completed medical school at the University of Toronto with residency and training across the country including Memorial University in Newfoundland and the University of Manitoba.

Pun believes she provides a distinctive view on health care because of her experience in medicine in Toronto.

“I have a unique perspective serving health care on the front line. I’ve worked both in the hospital and now in the community,” Pun told CP24.com.

“A lot of parties talk about building new hospitals, but sometimes new hospitals don’t make sense. There are operating rooms in GTA hospitals that cannot operate with recent budget cuts.”

While in Manitoba, Pun was an MLA candidate for the Green Party in the riding of Point Douglas, finishing in fourth place with a little more than three percent of the vote.
