The Toronto Blue Jays may be going retro with a new logo next season.

Writers of the blog Uni Watch claim to have obtained a copy of a new Blue Jays logo that looks very similar to the Major League Baseball team's original one.

The major differences? The updated logo features a blue jay with two shades of blue and it drops the outline of a baseball in the background.

A Blue Jays spokesperson said the club has no comment on the blog's claim.

Uni Watch posted the logo, which retains the red maple leaf, on Thursday.

"And now the latest item to leak … the Blue Jays are going back to basics," the blog post claims.

There have been reports that the Blue Jays will soon unveil new uniforms for their 2012 season.
