Toronto cold snap expected to hang around until Friday

The cold snap gripping Toronto will hold on until at least the end of the week, with temperatures feeling like -17 with the wind chill Tuesday morning.

Environment Canada’s forecast is calling for a high of -5 C today and a low of -15 C, which will feel like -24 overnight. The seasonal high is -2 C.

A 40 per cent chance of flurries will continue throughout the day and into Wednesday amid mainly cloudy conditions and northwest winds gusting to 50 km/h.

Wednesday’s high is only expected to reach – 9 C, but the wind chill will make it feel like -24. The low will sit at – 11 C.

The national weather agency says Toronto will see a high of – 4 C on Thursday and a low of -10 C.

Cold conditions are expected to ease up slightly heading into the weekend, with Friday’s forecast calling for a high of -2 C and a low of – 8 C, with a 40 per cent chance of snow.
