Durham police are searching for the driver of a vehicle following a hit-and-run in Ajax Thursday.

Police say a pedestrian was walking on Kingston Road near Chapman Drive just before 5:30 p.m. when they were struck by a vehicle.

The pedestrian was transported to a trauma centre in Toronto with non-life-threatening injuries, police say.

Meanwhile, the driver fled, and the vehicle was last seen travelling west on Kingston Road West.

No descriptions have been released.

Investigators are asking for anyone with information that could lead them to locating the driver to contact them at 905-579-1520 ext. 4042 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
