One person is dead following a shooting within an apartment building in Oshawa Tuesday afternoon.
Durham Regional Police say they received a call for gunshots at 1040 Cedar Street, north of Wentworth Street West, around 2 p.m.
When officers arrived, they said they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was shortly pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.

Police have not provided any information about the suspects.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are not immediately known.
Meanwhile, the homicide investigators have taken over the investigation.
“We’re all upset that this has occurred,” Acting Insp. Craig McCabe said.
“It’s supposed to be a joyous time of the year, and we’re here, unfortunately, investigating the 11th deceased party of the year within Durham Region.”
