Police have charged a 44-year-old woman in connection with a collision that led to the death of a 13-year-old cyclist in Ajax last November.
On Monday, the driver involved in the collision at Rossland Road West near Stevensgate Drive was charged with careless driving causing death under the Highway Traffic Act, the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) said in a news release.
DRPS said the accused and the victim are both residents of Ajax.
The victim was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries on the morning of Nov. 7, after which she subsequently died.
The Hyundai Santa Fe driver involved in the collision did not sustain any injuries and remained at the scene, DRPS said.
Police have not identified the deceased.
