A female pedestrian is dead after being hit by a truck in Ajax on Saturday afternoon.
Durham police say it happened near Hunt Street and Harwood Avenue South shortly before 4 p.m.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measures, police say.
The truck remained at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are not immediately known.
Police closed Hunt Street between Harwood Avenue South and Commercial Avenue.
