Police say that a suspect has been taken into custody following a “targeted” home invasion in Caledon early Thursday morning.
Officers were dispatched to the residence on Ann McKee Street shortly after 5 a.m. for a report of a home invasion in progress.
Police say that officers attended the scene and later arrested the suspect.
The suspect, police say, was operating a Black Jeep Wrangler at the time.
Police have released an image of the vehicle and are appealing to anyone with dashcam or surveillance footage from the area between the hours of 5:15 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Jan. 2 to contact investigators.
“It is believed that this was a targeted incident and that there is no imminent threat to public safety,” a news release notes. “The investigation is ongoing by the Caledon OPP Major Crime Unit with the assistance from the Caledon Community Street Crime Unit.”
The suspect remains in police custody at this time.
Police have not said what charges they are facing.
