Six women are wanted after an attempted distraction theft left a business owner with bite marks over the weekend.
Hamilton police say six women entered a family-run variety store in the Flamborough area in the early evening of Sat. Jan. 25.
Police say some of the women spoke with staff and made small purchases while the rest of the group attempted to steal various items throughout the store.
The group also broke into the residential section of the store and looked through closets and drawers, according to police.
Investigators say the store owners confronted the women and forced them to leave.
During that interaction, police say one of the store owners was bitten by one of the suspects.
They were seen fleeing in a black SUV that had been parked nearby.
The suspects are described as women between the ages of 25 and 60 and were wearing dark winter clothing at the time of the robbery. Several were also wearing headscarves.
Hamilton police believe there may be more victims of the group`s distraction thefts and ask anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
