Cyclist found deceased on side of road near Hamilton, police say

A cyclist was found dead on the side of a road in Ancaster, Ont. on Tuesday, according to police.

Hamilton Police say they were called to the area of Powerline Road West and Bethel Church Road on Tuesday.

Investigators say they believe the person was cycling westbound on Powerline Road.

The Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit and Mountain Criminal Investigations Unit were called to the scene to investigate.

The circumstances surrounding the cyclist’s death are unknown at this time, police say, and the incident remains under investigation.

Police are asking anyone who was in the area between 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on June 30 that may have information or footage to contact them.
