Niagara police have made an arrest in the murder of a 38-year-old man who was found deceased in a grassy area near a rural roadway in Port Colborne this past summer.
The victim, 38-year-old Daniel Sanvido, was located in the area of Forkes Road and Highway 140 on the afternoon of Aug. 24.
Police classified the incident as a homicide the following day but have released few other details and have not provided a cause of death.
In a news release issued on Friday, police confirmed that a suspect was taken into custody in connection with the homicide this week.
Jade Hayward, 36, of St. Catharines is charged with first-degree murder and was expected to appear in court on Friday.
Police have also issued arrest warrants for two other men who they say should be considered “armed and dangerous.”
Jacob Cudney, 47, of Niagara Falls and Richard Stevens, 47, of Niagara Falls are both wanted for first-degree murder.
Police continue to investigate the matter and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
