Niagara police have made another arrest in the murder investigation of a 38-year-old man found dead near a rural roadway in Port Colborne, Ont., this past summer.

The victim, Daniel Sanvido, was located in the area of Forkes Road and Highway 140 on the afternoon of Aug. 24.

The following day, police classified the incident as a homicide, but have not provided a cause of death.

On Saturday, police say they brought Jacob Cudney, 47, into custody and charged him with first-degree murder. The charge hasn’t been tested in court.

This is the second arrest this week in connection with the homicide. Niagara police arrested Jade Hayward, 36, on Friday, and charged her with first-degree murder.

One other suspect, 47-year-old Richard Stevens, remains at large. Police say he is considered “armed and dangerous” and that the public should not approach him if spotted. Police encourage Stevens to contact legal counsel and surrender himself to the authorities.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact them at 905-688-4111 or Crime Stoppers, anonymously.
