Pedestrian dies after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the street: Niagara police

A pedestrian hit in a crash in Niagara Falls earlier this week has died.

Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) say the 79-year-old man has succumbed to the injuries he sustained after getting hit by a vehicle in the area of McLeod and Dorchester roads on Monday evening.

Police initially said the man had been crossing the street just before 7 p.m. when he was hit by a blue Audi Q3 being driven by a 62-year-old. The driver remained at the scene.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the circumstances of the accident and ask anyone with information or video footage to contact detectives at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009504 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
