2 women killed in ‘significant’ Brampton collision, another person in hospital

One person is dead after two vehicles collided at Dixie Rd. and Queen St. in Brampton, Saturday, June 20, 2026.

Two women have died following what police are calling a “significant” two-vehicle collision in Brampton on Saturday afternoon.

A third person, meanwhile, remain in hospital with minor, non-life-threatening, injuries, Peel Regional Paramedic Services says.

The crash happened in the intersection of Dixie Road and Queen Street.

Peel Regional Police said they were called to that area just around 1:25 p.m. for reports of a two-vehicle collision.

Collision being described as ‘significant’

Speaking with the media on Saturday afternoon, Insp. Andrew Harris, of Peel Regional Police, called this collision “significant.”

At that time, he said the second person who was critically injured was taken to a trauma centre where they’re still receiving treatment.

Around 7 p.m., Peel police announced that a second adult female injured in the collision has died.

Major Collision Bureau investigating

The force’s Major Collision Bureau is now investigating this crash.

“Our Major Collision Bureau is going to be trying to determine what caused the accident. They’ll be looking at evidence that’s presented on the ground, so they can make a determination of what caused these serious injuries,” Harris added.

The intersection of Dixie Road and Queen Street is closed in all directions and police are urging motorists to use alternate routes.
