A pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle overnight in Brampton, Peel regional police say.
The collision happened at about 1 a.m. on Queen Street East between Cherrycrest Drive and Beaumaris Drive.
Police say the pedestrian was transported to a trauma centre with critical injuries adding that the driver remained at the scene.
As a result, Queen Street East is closed in both directions between Cherrycrest Drive and Beaumaris Drive and is expected to remain closed for what police say is an “undetermined length of time.”
Drivers are being asked to use alternate routes.
