Pedestrian seriously injured after being struck by driver in Scarborough

A woman was taken to a trauma centre with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, after being struck by the driver of a vehicle in Scarborough on Monday night, say paramedics.

The crash happened near Warden and Bertrand avenues, north of Eglinton Avenue East.

Toronto police said they were called to that area shortly before 7:30 p.m. aftr a pedestrian was hit y a driver. The victim is a woman in her 70s, they said.

Police said the motorist remained at that scene.

Currently, the intersection of Warden and Bertrand is closed as police investigate. Drivers are being urged to consider alternate routes.
