Toronto police search for man who allegedly stole a Jeep with a dog inside

A man who allegedly stole a white Jeep with a dog inside it in Etobicoke Wednesday morning is being sought by police.

A man who allegedly stole a white Jeep with a dog inside it in Etobicoke Wednesday morning is being sought by police.

It happened in the area of Bloor Street West and The East Mall at around 8:50 a.m.

According to police, the victim was in their parked car when the suspect approached the vehicle and allegedly demanded and threatened the victim to get out of the car.

When the victim exited the car, police said the suspect got in and drove away, with the dog in the back of the vehicle. Police said the white Jeep Grand Cherokee, with black roof rails and chrome running boards, has a licence plate of CVRB 054.

Officers said the four-year-old chocolate Labrador goes by the name of Roxy.

Roxy

Police said they’re looking for a roughly 30-year-old man who is between five-foot-eight and six feet tall with a light-coloured beard and medium build. They add that he was wearing a black jacket, black winter pants and black earmuffs at the time.
