Toronto police have laid dozens of charges against four people in connection with a drug trafficking and firearms investigation.
Officers were patrolling the area of Queen Street West and Bathurst Street on Wednesday when they witnessed an alleged drug deal between two people.
One man, identified as 38-year-old Nathaniel Williams, was arrested shortly.
Police have charged him with trafficking a Schedule 1 substance, assault with intent to resist or prevent an arrest, possession of a Schedule 1 substance for trafficking and possession of proceeds of property or thing obtained by crime under $5,000.
Police said their drug squad was conducting a simultaneous investigation into Williams.
A search warrant was executed at an undisclosed residence, and police said officers recovered two loaded firearms, three replica firearms, a bayonet and drug paraphernalia.
Three people were also taken into custody during the search.
Police laid 13 additional charges against Williams.
Meanwhile, the three other suspects, identified as 18-year-old Mubarek Ajetunmobi, 19-year-old Emmanuel Grant and 18-year-old Joel Drummond, are facing a combined 30 firearm-related charges.
