A portion of Sheppard Avenue was closed to traffic in Scarborough for most of Friday morning after a driver crashed into a utility pole.
The collision happened near Midland Avenue at around 8:40 a.m.
Sheppard Avenue was blocked in both directions between Midland Avenue and Brimley Road but reopened at around 11:30 a.m.
Police say that the driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital in serious condition.
