A man in his 70s has died after falling through the ice in Lake Ontario by the Toronto Islands, police say.
Toronto police say they were called to the area of Lagoon Road and Centre Island Parkway around 9 a.m. on Friday.
No further details about the victim were provided, but police did say this is not a criminal investigation.
Police issued a warning to the public, alerting them to stay off frozen lakes, rivers and ponds as the ice can break and put you at “serious” risk in freezing water.
