Subway service resumed between Jane and Islington stations on Line 2 after a reported fire at Royal York Station.
Toronto Fire says that they were first called to the west-end subway station just before 9 a.m.
Firefighters encountered smoke at platform level upon their arrival and conducted a search of a train inside the station, Toronto Fire says.
The smoke has since cleared but crews remain on scene investigating alongside TTC personnel.
Royal York Station has been evacuated.
In an update just before 10:10 a.m., the TTC says service has resumed between Jane and Islington stations.
