Police search for vehicle in Scarborough hit-and-run that left senior critically injured

Toronto police have released a photo of the vehicle that fled after striking an elderly woman in Scarborough on Thursday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Warden Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East just before 2:15 p.m. for a collision.

Police said a grey Volkswagen Atlas was travelling through the parking lot of a shopping plaza when it struck a pedestrian.

The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, the vehicle drove away, police said.

No description of the driver has been released.
