Toronto police are searching for three suspects after a kidnapping and a robbery at a downtown gold store.

Toronto police are searching for three suspects who allegedly kidnapped a gold seller so they could get inside his downtown store and steal the valuable merchandise.

Officers responded to a robbery call on Thursday evening in the area of Dundas Street East and Bond Street after police said an alarm system was activated.

Investigators discovered that three male suspects first went into an undisclosed location in the city where they allegedly kidnapped the owner of a gold bullion store.

The suspects then took him to his store and subsequently ransacked the place in search of gold, police allege.

Investigators said the suspects fled with a large quantity of gold. Meanwhile, the victim was left at the store, suffering from minor injuries.

Police have not provided descriptions of the suspects.

They are asking anyone with information to contact them at 416-808-7350 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477) or www.222tips.com.
