Two men and a teenage boy have been charged after high-end fragrances worth $200,000 were stolen from stores across the Greater Toronto Area over the past month.

Police in Toronto, York Region, Durham Region and Halton Regions responded to nine robberies between Jan. 8 and Feb. 12.

Several suspects travelling in a stolen vehicle would enter retail stores wearing masks and armed with hammers, police said.

The suspects allegedly smashed display cases and took high-end fragrances before fleeing the area.

As a result, all four police services began a multi-jurisdictional investigation, which led them to identify three suspects.

On Wednesday, investigators executed a search warrant and arrested the suspects.

“During the searches, officers recovered items of evidentiary value related to the investigation,” police said.

Two suspects have been identified as Zain Shahzad and Adam Shin, both 19-year-old Toronto residents. The third suspect is a 16-year-old Toronto boy who cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police have laid a combined 75 charges against the trio, with the teen facing the most with 32.

Investigators continue to ask anyone with information to contact them at 416-808-7350 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477) or www.222tips.com.
