Police are warning residents in the Toronto area of a “high risk” violent offender who was recently released from prison earlier this week.
Officials say 49-year-old William Charles Gibson was released on Friday after serving four years, four months and 22 days for assault causing bodily harm, obstructing a peace officer and failure to attend court.
“Mr. Gibson has been deemed a high risk to re-offend violently,” police wrote in a media release. “Upon his release, he will not be subject to any probation or other supervision orders.”
Investigators say Gibson has a “demonstrated risk to the community“ and is believed to be somewhere in the Toronto area.
Police say anyone with information is asked to contact them at 416-808-7474 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
