A Buffalo N.Y. minor league baseball team is offering discounted tickets to Canadian customers.

The Buffalo Bisons, which are the AAA affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, will provide a discount of 30 per cent off single-game tickets to purchasers who enter a Canadian address and coupon code online or pay with Canadian cash at the ballpark.

The team says Canadian credit cards work across Sahlen Field but that Canadians will be subject to the exchange rate. Canadian cash is only accepted for purchasing singe-game tickets and ticket packages.

The Bisons are based out of Sahlen Field in Buffalo, which is only about 15 minutes away from the Peace Bridge.

The minor league team has been affiliated with the Blue Jays since 2013. The 10 starting Blue Jays in Game 7, were all former Bisons.

Canadians visited the U.S. two million times in February, a 12.5 per cent year-over-year drop, part of a 14-month streak of declining trips to the U.S.

The Bisons aren’t the only ones to offer Canadians a discount amid a broader slowdown in Canadian travel to the U.S. amid ongoing trade tensions.

Three Las Vegas hotels are taking the Canadian dollar at par until Aug. 31 in an effort to encourage Canadian visitors.

In 2025, Seattle businesses offered deep discounts and took Canadian cash at par as part of their ‘Open Arms for our Canadian Friends’ campaign.

A number of businesses in New York state also offered discounts for Canadian travellers in 2025, including some at-par promotions.
