Muggy, wet weather is in Toronto’s forecast before cooler temperatures arrive next week.
CP24 Meteorologist Bill Coulter said while summer won’t officially arrive until June 20, “high heat and humidity won’t wait until that date to invade the GTA.”
“The humidity will pop into the mid 30s from Wednesday through Friday as tropical air pays us a visit,” he said.
“That flow will also bring us the energy for pop-up showers and thunderstorms... the threat will continue through early Friday.”
Environment Canada says the city will see near-identical forecasts on Wednesday and Thursday. Daytime highs of 30 C are expected, but the temperature will feel closer to 36 with the humidity. A risk of rain and thunderstorms are also possible on both days.
Friday will see more rain and a high of 29 C.
“Brighter and less humid weather returns for the weekend,” Coulter said.
The national weather agency said a mix of sun and cloud is expected on Saturday, along with a high of 28 C.
Rain is possible on Sunday, which will see a high of 26 C.
“Much fresher air will be in place for early next week,” Coulter noted.
Cloudy skies are expected on Monday, along with a notable drop in temperature early next week. Highs of just 22 C and 21 C are expected on Monday on Tuesday respectively.
