A man in his 90s is dead after a vehicle crashed into a tree in North York on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded to the area of Bathurst Street and Sheppard Avenue West after receiving a call for a single-vehicle collision at 4:45 p.m.
Toronto Fire Services (TFS) said first-aid measures were performed on the driver, who was later rushed to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition.
In an update on Thursday night, police said the man had been pronounced dead in the hospital.
A hydro pole was also knocked down as a result of the crash, downing wires in the area, TFS said.
The cause of the crash is unknown.
