Police say they found a man with life-threatening injuries in a laneway near Keele and Eglinton, and he died shortly after being rushed to hospital.

Toronto police say the death of a man found unresponsive in a laneway in the northwest end of the city is being treated as suspicious.

According to police, emergency crews responded to a medical call in the area of Eglinton Avenue and Keele Street.

Officers found an unresponsive man in a laneway in the area and life-saving measures were performed, police said in an email to CP24.

He was taken to hospital and later pronounced dead.

“At this point the death is being considered suspicious, and officers are still holding the scene, however, we are awaiting the results of the autopsy to confirm cause of death,” a Toronto police spokesperson said.
