Police are searching for three suspects following a break and enter in Hamilton early Friday morning.

Hamilton Regional Police say they responded at 6:30 a.m. Friday to a residence in the area of East 8th Street, which is located near the intersection of Upper Welling Street and Fennell Avenue East.

According to police, two suspects entered the home through the front door at about 6 a.m., where a struggle with the homeowner ensued. Officials say the suspects then stole a safe and other valuables before leaving through the front door and fleeing in a black SUV driven by a third suspect.

In a news release, police described the three suspects as Black males with thin builds. They were wearing black clothing, masks and gloves.

Anyone with information about the incident, or who may have surveillance or dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident, is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
