Toronto police have charged a Vaughan man with first-degree murder after allegedly stabbing his wife to death inside a North York apartment building Saturday afternoon.
In a news release, officials say officers responded to a person-with-a-knife call in the Fairview Mall Drive and Don Mills Road area shortly after 2 p.m.
When officers arrived at the residential building, they say they found a woman suffering from stab wounds in a hallway. Life-saving measures were attempted, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has now been identified as 29-year-old Thi Nguyen of Toronto.

Police allege the suspect fled the building before officers arrived.
Investigators later identified and arrested 28-year-old Martin Ly of Vaughan. He has been charged with first-degree murder and failure to comply with an undertaking.
Police told CP24 that the accused and the victim were married.
None of the charges have been tested in court but Ly was scheduled to appear at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre.
This marks Toronto’s 21st homicide of the year.
Anyone with additional information is asked to come forward.
