Two people are in hospital following a two-alarm house fire in Scarborough on Thursday night.
Toronto Fire Services (TFS) said a fire broke out at 15 Ashridge Drive, in the area of McCowan Road and McNicoll Area, shortly after 7:15 p.m.
When crews arrived, they encountered heavy fire on the first and second floors.
Crews conducted a primary search of the home and subsequently knocked down the fire.
TFS said two people were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
The cause, origin, and circumstances of the fire are unknown.
TFS said its fire investigators have been notified.
