Hwy. 427 northbound near Dixon Road reopens following gravel spill

A truck hauling stones rolled over on Highway 427 in Toronto, resulting in a lengthy closure on Thursday afternoon.

Ontario Provincial Police said the rollover happened in the northbound lanes near Dixon Road shortly before 2 p.m.

Images from the scene show the truck on its side as stones were scattered across the highway.

Police said no injuries were reported.

All northbound lanes and one southbound lane were closed for several hours for cleanup.

The highway fully reopened just after 6:30 p.m.

The cause of the crash is unknown. Anyone who witnessed this collision is asked to contact Toronto OPP.
