Toronto police are looking for two suspects after a point-of-sale machine was stolen from a downtown business and was used to commit multiple frauds totalling more than half a million dollars.

Police said the suspects arrived in a vehicle in the area of King Street West and Blue Jays Way on the morning of Sept. 4.

One suspect got out of the vehicle, entered a business, and allegedly stole a point-of-sale machine.

He then fled back to the vehicle and they drove away, police said.

In the following weeks, the machine was used for frauds valued at over $500,000.

In a news release on Thursday, police released images of one suspect who is described as having a medium build.

He was last seen wearing blue ripped jeans, a New York Yankees baseball hat, a dark-coloured hoodie, and white shoes.

Police do not have a description of the second suspect who remained in the vehicle during the theft.

They also released images of the suspect vehicle believed to be a silver Mercedez-Benz with the front wheels appearing to be different than the rear wheels.
