If you’re using GO Transit or UP Express to get to the city for trick-or-treating or attend some Halloween parties this weekend, there are some disruptions to keep in mind.
Kitchener/UP Express
The Union Pearson Express service is going to be suspended this weekend for major track upgrades.
“These track closures are required to make essential improvements to bring you better, faster and more frequent trips,” GO Transit says.
GO shuttle buses are going to run directly between Toronto Pearson Airport Terminal 1 and Union Station Bus Terminal. Buses will not stop at Bloor, Mount Dennis, or Weston GO stations.
Meanwhile, GO trains are only going to run between Mount Pleasant and Mount Dennis stations.
From Mount Dennis, riders are advised to take the Eglinton Crosstown LRT to connect to TTC Line 1 to Union Station.
“During the closure, crews are conducting important construction work and necessary maintenance to support faster, more frequent service on the Kitchener line,” GO Transit says.
The agency notes that there will be select GO buses running between Stratford or Kitchener GO and Hwy 407 Bus Terminal.
There will also be no GO service at Bloor Station.
Lakeshore East
GO Transit says there is going to be hourly train service between Durham College Oshawa GO and Union Station to accommodate a planned construction.
Barrie
GO trains will run between Allandale Waterfront/Aurora GO and Downsview Park.
There will be no train service between Downsview Park and Union Station.
It should be noted that weekend train service on the Barrie Line has been reduced and replaced by GO bus service.
GO Transit says buses are going to run between Allandale Waterfront GO and Highway 407 Bus Terminal to connect to TTC Line 1.
Stouffville
Service is going to be temporarily modified to accommodate major track upgrades, GO Transit says.
Southbound trains will depart Old Elm/Mount Joy GO up to 27 minutes later than regularly scheduled.
TTC
Subway service on Line 2 between Jane and Ossington stations is going to start at 12 p.m. on Sunday due to planned track work.
Before 12 p.m., shuttle buses are going to run between the stations.
The TTC says Runnymede, High Park, Lansdowne, and Dufferin stations will be closed. All other TTC stations will remain open for customers to purchase their fare.
