Elderly man critically injured after collision involving his mobility scooter in Georgina

An elderly man was sent to the hospital with a life-threatening injury after a car knocked him off his mobility scooter in Georgina on Saturday.

York Regional Police said officers responded to the area of Woodbine Avenue and Riveredge Drive at around 12:25 p.m., where the driver of an SUV collided into the scooter.

Police said the senior was critically injured but he is now in stable condition.

Officers said the driver stayed on the scene and was not injured.
