An Aurora man is wanted by York Regional Police after allegedly firing shots at a Newmarket home over the weekend.
Police say the shooting happened just after 4 a.m. on Sunday at a home in the area of College Manor Drive and Greig Circle.
When officers arrived, they said they found multiple shell casings on the ground in front of the home. They say both the house and a vehicle parked in the driveway sustained damage.
The house was occupied at the time of the shooting, but no one was injured, police say. They did not say how many people were inside the home at the time.
A white hatchback was seen fleeing the area at the time according to officers, and the incident is believed to be targeted.
Police have now issued an arrest warrant for 35-year-old Winston Vernon. He is wanted on multiple charges including unauthorized possession of a firearm and assault with a weapon.
