51-year-old Georgina teacher charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a student

A 51-year-old male teacher from Georgina has been charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault investigation involving a student.

The accused is a high school teacher with the York Region District School Board and a volleyball coach in Keswick.

The sexual assault occurred in September, police said in a press release on Friday, and was reported on Dec. 9.

Andrew Hagerman has been allegedly charged with sexual assault, police say. The charge has not been tested in court.

The name and location of the school where the incident occurred are not released to protect the victim’s identity.

There is no statue of limitations on sexual offences.
