WOODSTOCK, Ont. - A man accused of abducting and murdering Tori Stafford wants his trial moved out of southern Ontario's Oxford County.

Michael Rafferty's lawyer was in assignment court this morning in Woodstock, where it was determined a one-day pre-trial hearing will take place in November, and three days have been set aside in February to hear a change of venue application.

Outside court, defence lawyer Laura Giordano wouldn't elaborate on why, or where, they want the trial moved.

Crown attorney Brian Crockett says the prosecution believes the trial should take place in Oxford County.

The case against the other accused, Terri-Lynn McClintic, remains under a publication ban.

Eight-year-old Tori Stafford was abducted while walking home from school in Woodstock on April 8, 2009, and her body was found in a wooded area the following July.
